MONEY SAVING TIPS.. TUITION FEE

Tuition Saving: Community Colleges
This little gem went unhidden from my eyes until I had only one course available. This is how it works. All courses require that you take some foundation level courses once you are enrolled in their main program.  Check with your university what course credits they would accept from another institution.

A careful comparison with the available courses at the closest community college is the next step.

Typically the community colleges tuition fee are cheaper than private university because they subsidized. Enrolling in the community college will save you atleast 50-75% of your colleges tuition fee.  Thousands of students every year enrol in community colleges and save millions of dollars with no effect to their graduating college degree. I personally know a fellow student who took three courses at community colleges and paid $100 per course instead of $575 per course. That’s a saving of over $1300 over two semesters.

Ofcourse a bit of planning is required but when you are saving $1000 or more on every two courses you take its worth it.

More on the next posting..

MISC SAVING TIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Hopefully the new year has started with you being more efficient as well as appreciating the gift of life. I diverted from the mundane posts the last time and blogged in a famous poem on life. Print it, make it a screen saver.. I know it has helped me to relook at things and just might help you to..

Moving on to the topic of this blog, saving tips.. This time I am suggesting investing in one of the time tested tools to save money. Although with an annual membership fee, the subsequent savings quickly add up and include 24 hr car breakdown support and hosts of other benefits.

Yes I am talking about the AAA card.

Even if you don't own a car, chances are you will rent one couple of times a year. Whether its a flat tyre or battery problems, their extensive network ensures timely and efficient support and is an indispensable tool when you are on the road.

For more info log onto www.aaa.com. Do remember to mention your student status because that might get you additional discounts..

More on savings next time..

Good luck

HAPPY NEW YEAR

SLOW DANCE.. A Poem .. For New Year Resolutions..

Slow Dance
by
David L. Weatherford

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Do you run through each day on the fly
When you ask "How are you?" do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores running through your head?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
'Cause you never had time to call and say "Hi"?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away...

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
